SUSKEY

Donovan Brown has spent his career in government and law and has been active in state and national politics throughout his life. Prior to joining Suskey Consulting, LLC as a Vice President, Donovan practiced law for two national law firms where he practiced regulatory, corporate transactional and administrative law in conjunction with his lobbying activities. Donovan also served as regional counsel for state government relations for a national trade association, where he managed government relations and public affairs in numerous states throughout the southeastern United States. Prior to his legal career, Donovan served as special assistant to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.  He also held policy positions in Governor Bush’s Office.  Most recently, before joining Suskey Consulting, Donovan engaged in governmental affairs, consulting and corporate business development at a firm he founded. 

In his role as a Vice President of Suskey Consulting, Donovan represents clients on all matters pending before the legislature and state executive agencies, with a specific focus on regulated industries, including, but not limited to: insurance, health care, transportation, the environment, energy, telecommunications, and education. In addition to his consulting practice, Donovan has held leadership capacities on various state and industry commissions and boards, including serving as the Chair of the Financial Services Council at the Associated Industries of Florida, as well as serving as a member of the Florida Automated Vehicles Policy Work Group. 

Well-known and trusted by local, regional and national political and other media outlets, Donovan is frequently sought out by both print, broadcast and online news reporters to help them assess, analyze and frame pivotal governmental affairs and regulatory issues. 

Donovan is a graduate of the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law and also earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communications from the University of Florida.  He has been named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, among other legal and community recognitions. Donovan resides in Tallahassee, Florida with his children, Teagan and Barrett.
